Roadtrip Day One and Two - Kayce Dewey and Brock Butterfield

Author: B-ROCK

Kayce and I were supposed to set out on the road somewhere around 9am Thursday.... but guess when we ACTUALLY left! (answer at the end) If you know Kayce as well as I do, you would know to expect a delay.

We headed towards Salida, CO. We decided to take the US 40 out of Heber for a change of scenery and to also stick with our plan of avoiding interstates. We've set a goal to see the US from the back roads.

After realizing we were not going to make it to Salida till super late we decided to find a place to camp just outside of Avon, CO in the White River National Forest.
Kayce built a fire and I kept an eye out for wild game...

Kayce's sweet fire!
The view from camping. It was freezing cold during the night at 10,000 elevation.
Pancake Taco!
Two signs that should not be next to each other... Really?
This one made us laugh.
Jesus is Comming and he's saving all those who failed first grade spelling.
Meal in a bag. Campsite number two in Hasty, CO.
Mmmm... Kayce approved.
View of the camping area next to the dam and lake. We survived the thunderstorm and wind from the night before!
Ok... For real? This is why we take the side roads. Check out where this guy placed Laura Bush's head...
At least 1/4 mile long!
Day 1
Day 2
Oh Kansas, you are a fun state.

Oh.... and we really left Utah at noon.
